Auburn men and women have a deep and abiding love for their alma mater and enjoy sharing their Auburn heritage with others in their community. Once you leave the Plains you’ll want to remain connected. We are an organization committed to activities that engage our alumni, re-unite them and support our St Louis community. In addition to our community projects we provide scholarship funding to Auburn students.
The 2008 Auburn Club Program Communication Award was presented to President, Nelda Lee in recognition of the St Louis Auburn Club's outstanding communications efforts through the Club's email account and websites which include auburnstl.org, a Facebook group and a Flickr group. The following were involved in these efforts:
- Communications Director, Lee Ori for management of the Club's email efforts
- Treasurer, Linda Ragsdale for development and management of the Club's Facebook group
About St Louis Auburn Club
The St Louis Auburn Club is a non profit organization committed to strengthening the relationship of Auburn alumni in the St Louis area with their alma mater and other alumni and friends. In the tradition of Auburn University, the St Louis Auburn Club keeps the Auburn spirit alive in St Louis and the surrounding area.
The St Louis Auburn Club provides scholarship funding to St Louis area students to attend Auburn University. Additionally we provide support to local non-profits whose missions are closely related to ours. See our 2008 Year-in-Review which shows all we accomplished this past year with everyone's support!
The St Louis Auburn Club was associated in 1983. The original philosophy of the club was '...to provide an opportunity to foster the Auburn spirit and make possible first-hand contact with Auburn University for its alumni throughout Alabama, the nation and the world'. This original philosophy is carried out today in the activities and events coordinated by the club.
The St Louis Auburn Club offers something for everyone - both alumni and friends of Auburn. The activities and events throughout the year allow those in the St Louis area to patronize many of the historical and cultural treasures in our area. Additionally, we gather to cheer on the St Louis sports teams as well as those of Auburn University. The clubs annual scholarship dinner also provides an opportunity for members of the Auburn University faculty, staff and/or coaches to join us in St Louis and discuss the latest news and plans for Auburn's colleges and schools, campus and athletic teams.
